However, did this hold true for all society? Or was it lost in translation and applied to “whites only? Because how can a “negro” believe in freedom of life when he or she has to watch their loved ones being hung? How can the “negro” believe in in the idea of liberty by watching their neighbor being dragged off to jail just because he or she refused to give up his or seat on a bus? How fully can the “negro” pursue happiness when at every turn taken segregation and denial of opportunities are there to diminish him or her? . These were the times Dr. Martin Luther King was born into and these were the questions his life was forged to answer, fighting for equal rights of the “negro” during segregation.
Born in January 15, 1929 Dr. King was raised in a family where love was central and enjoyable relationships were always present. King`s loving family was able to provide him a health upbringing followed by a strong education. King`s father, grandfather, great-grandfather, only brother, and his daddy`s brother were preachers, so King followed their footsteps and became a minister in a Baptist church in Montgomery, Alabama years later.
