Painting

The most popular paintings of Islamic art were the "miniature painting." These paintings were small and were used in books called "illuminated manuscripts." These paintings often contained pictures of animals and people. This was because they were illustrations for story books.

Most Western Asia art use Calligraphic designs as patterns to objects and architecture. Mostly, the writing would be a religious verse from the Quran. Calligraphy is usually combined with geometric and arabesque patterns.
